Description

Depart from San José accompanied by your bilingual naturalist tour guide.

On the way we pass by coffee plantations and Braulio Carrillo National Park where steep slopes are covered with thick cloud forest and beautiful waterfalls can be seen from the road.

After the National Park, we stop for a delicious breakfast that consist of : Fresh fruits, coffee, eggs, and the popular Gallo Pinto.

We will also visit a banana plantation where the tour guide will explain the whole process of growing bananas as well as the export packing process.

Upon arrival to the dock, we take the boat trip into the jungle on the Caribbean Canals to the world famous "Tortuguero National Park", covering 1800 hectares.

Tortuguero is one of the most important nesting sites for Chelonias Mydas (green sea turtle), whereas its forests and waterways are home for such endangered mammals as sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coati-mundis, and manatees.

There are also abundant birds, such as toucans, trogons, egrets, herons, and annhingas, as well as crocodiles, turtles and countless colorful butterflies, including the beautiful blue morpho.

Lunch will be the tastiest during your trip to Costa Rica.

At the park, every visitor will pay the entrance fee of $10.00 per person. Then we will take a walk trough the rain forest where we will learn about nature.
